Lawsuit filed over UD student's death

The family of 18-year-old Brett Griffin, a University of Delaware freshman who died in November, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the fraternity Sigma Alpha Mu and five students. The lawsuit alleges fraternity members forced Griffin to drink an excessive amount of alcohol at an off-campus fraternity party.

Fire engulfs apartment building under construction

A two-alarm fire engulfed an apartment building being renovated Wednesday evening in Wilmington. No one was living in the building. Eighteen adults and seven children living in a building next door were initially displaced after they lost electricity. Watch firefighters battle the blaze.

Fire investigators say a curling iron left plugged in started a blaze inside an apartment near Wilmington. The fire displaced one adult and a child. Watch firefighters battle the blaze.

School bus crash injures 5

Five students were injured Tuesday after their school bus flipped on its side. Watch emergency crews on the scene. Police say a car struck the bus at the intersection of U.S. 113 and Delaware Avenue in Millsboro.

Tropper charged with sexual extortion

A Delaware State Trooper has been charged with sexual extortion after he allegedly accepted a sexual favor as a bribe from a suspected shoplifter. Cpl. Joshua Giddings, 36, is a seven year veteran patrol trooper. Police say DNA linked Giddings to the incident. Delaware State Police say they plan to dismiss Giddings from the force. Deck topples at party
